Major Shareholders Database

Database containing information on major shareholders of all listed companies in Japan. Contains information on the top 30 major shareholders compiled through TOYO KEIZAI’s original survey, compared to YUHO annual securities reports (equivalent to SEC Form 10-K) which disclose only the top 10. Can be utilized for various purposes including liquidity analyses and estimation of free float weights of listed companies.

Specifications

Coverage	Top 30 (at most) shareholders’ information for all listed companies in Japanese exchanges (with some exceptions). Information at the end of latest settlement or 2nd quarter settlement are included.
Items	Total number of Issued Shares, Floating Shares, Treasury Stock and shares held by Foreigners, Top 10 Shareholders, Executives, Investment Trusts, Pension trusts, Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Guidance of Free Float Weight Dataset	Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) announced to restructure its current stock market into three new market segments. Along with the beginning of the new market segments on April 4th 2022, TOPIX will be revised as well. As mentioned on the TSE website, TOYO KEIZAI datasets (TOYO KEIZAI Major Shareholders Database / Total Listed Shares Database / Board Members Shares Database / Treasury Shares Database / Cross-Shareholdings Shares Database) are referred to calculate free-float shares.
